After months of consideration and negotiating, we ordered all new custom made equipment from Istanbul, Turkey late in 2022, and it is arrived and was installed in March. Why from Turkey? The Turkish people have been making and caring for fine rugs for thousands of years. This long history means that the very best rug washing equipment is made there today.
Due to the many sizes, textiles and other factors, we are unable to provide precise online rug cleaning quotes at this time. However, to provide a general idea:
Rugs are thoroughly cleaned with a multi-step process that includes:
1 Pre-inspection and measurement. Testing for colorfast dyes.
2. Removing dry soil using a state of the art dusting machine
3. Presoaking and treating for stains & urine
4. Machine washing entire rug, using a feed through machine that simultaneously deep cleans from both sides.
5. Rinsing all residue from rug using softened water
6. Spin drying with a powerful centrifuge that removes 96% of moisture.
7. Rugs are quickly dried using forced air and commercial grade dehumidification in a specially designed drying room heated to over 100 degrees.

- Most wool rugs start at $5 plus $1.50 per square foot for our full dusting, immersion machine wash & quick dry process.
- Factors that increase wool rug cleaning cost may include: urine contamination, the presence of fringes, the presence of fugitive dyes, and the request for carpet protector or moth guard.
- For Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, olefin, nylon, etc) we have a broader range of cleaning options, chemicals and temperatures not suitable for natural fibers, and at a lower cost. Synthetic rugs start at $5 plus $0.75 per square foot and up for full immersion machine washing. Machine washing is recommended over Hot Water Extraction for urine contaminated or heavily soiled rugs.
- Urine contamination, the presence of fringes and request for carpet protector may increase the cost of Synthetic Rug Cleaning.
- All Rugs washed in our shop are dry dusted with our powerful dusting machine and quick dried with our centrifuge and drying room, regardless of whether they are natural or synthetic fiber.
